Critical Consciousness
The activities in this module are framed using a CRITICAL CONSCIOUSNESS perspective. Through the teachings and activities in this guidebook, you will be asked to open your mind to both internal learning and external practice. In this section of Module 1, we go into more depth about what critical conscious is in relation to engaging in the ‘spirit’ of our pedagogical practice and praxis (self-reflection + action).

Designing for Mind-Body-Spirit Connection
This lesson in Module 1 invites us to sink more fully into our hearts as we work with many different students, their families, and their communities. To work with our students authentically we must learn to address any implicit bias we may be carrying, both conscious and unconscious. This module is a beginning step toward confronting barriers that prevent us from accepting others for who they are and how they show up in our educational spaces.
